Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg) are secondary plant nutrients but are just as essential for plant growth even though those elements are required in more negligible amounts compared to macronutrients. While Calcium is part of every plant cell, it keeps cell walls upright and increases fruit set and quality.

Magnesium (Mg) acts as a phosphorus carrier in plants and is essential for phosphate metabolism. Furthermore, it is also needed for cell division and protein formation, activation of several enzyme systems and is an essential component for plant respiration.

Calcium (Ca) plays an extremely important role in producing plant tissues and it enables plants to grow better. Calcium is responsible for holding together the cell walls of plants. It is also crucial in activating certain enzymes and to send signals that coordinate certain cellular activities.
