These Black Plastic Buckets are a bit more pricey than what you might find at the local hardware store. The reason is that our buckets are thicker and stronger, and opaque. The thinner buckets normally found elsewhere are semi-translucent which could cause algae growth and problems for deep water culture or bucket system growers. These premium quality, black plastic buckets can be used for a variety of gardening applications. Many growers use these as containers to grow their plants in. You can even place the 3.5 gallon bucket inside the 5 gallon bucket to build your own hydroponic growing system.
Black Plastic Bucket Other growers use them for hauling soil or pre-mixing nutrients. They are handy to have around if you want to mix up a just small batch of plant food or additives.
For hydroponic applications, add on the black plastic bucket lid and you can cut a hole in the top to the size of the mesh basket that you need.

- Optional: Black Bucket Lid
- Net Pot Bucket Lid
- Grow Medium

DIY Steps
- The first step is assembling the air system. Connect your air hose to your air pump. At the other end of your hose, connect the check valve. You will need to connect the check valve the correct way or air won’t go through the valve. Many check valves have arrows depicting the direction of air flow.
- Connect another air hose from the check valve and into the bottom of the 5-gallon bucket, Keep in mind the longer the length of the air hose the less efficient your pump will be.
- Place your air stone into the bucket. Connect the air hose to the air stone.
